Vivacity2020 Overview site (temporary based at UCL)
Overall
Vision
The
project aims to investigate and understand the key environmental factors in the
urban environment, and relate these to the quality of life of a number of social
groups.
Environmental factors including
outdoor air quality, noise pollution and indoor living conditions will be
measured and monitored in a number of urban environments. To see how these factors influence the
quality of life, public perception of these issues and public health will be
explored.
Implications
This
research will enable the development of practical tools and resources,
integrating environmental issues and social inclusion, for decision making
regarding design guidelines for city development.
The
research will also develop a validated database of environmental conditions in
the cities investigated.
